Just a quick post - a card I recently made.

<-----Here is a close up image of the coloring on the card I made for a friend. I used her wedding colors as inspiration :)

Spinning Leprechaun

I got another SCS challenge done! I am excited about finding the time to do these again!! For this card; which came together as I worked it out. I couldn't 'see' this in my head like I can with other cards - all in all - I Love it!
This card includes the following challenges:
Free for All F4A103 - use a rainbow in some way
Ways to Use it WT362 - Bountiful Borders
Inspirational Challenge IC323 - pick an image from the ones offered and let it inspire you.

In the IC323 one of the pictures were of some rainbow colored chairs (above) which caught my eye and it also worked with the F4A103 challenge.

In the photo below you'll see all the stuff used to create the card (minus the boarder scissors, cardstock, SU Craft White ink, and a stamp set by the Angel Company). It is hard to see - but in the lower right corner there are two sizes of pop dots. One is pretty thin and is out of pop dots - but I use the entire sheet anyway - I just cut what I need in strips. This works great when you want some height and because i use strips it does not collapse.

For this card I used a rainbow of Palette Inks: Noir, Violete, Iris, STarry Night, Giverney Green, Sunflower, Orangerie and L'Amore Red. I also used Tria Pantone and Prismacolor markers to color the leprechaun.
I first cut the black cardstock to size, stamped the white shamrock background, then trimmed with the boarder scissors. I used the CM cutting system to cut the black apart into two pieces; then mounted on the base. That is where the little clovers are. Then that is when I decided to make a penny slider card. I took the CM cutting system and cut the track for the penny. Because I had to cut thru the two layers of cardstock I placed a layer of black cardstock on the backside of the front. I used the foam sticky strips that I cut from the old pop dot adhesive. This gave room for the penny to be able to slide on its track. I used a wide popdot to hold the two pennies together then glued the leprechaun to the penny after he was colors and cut.

Here is a little clip of the leprechaun spinning.

Happy Valentine's Day

I made 50 of these cute little Valentine's for Madelyn and Grace's class parties. For years I have wanted to make their Valentine's but time always got away from me. There is a fun paper store not too far from me: Hollos. They sell cardstock for about $1 a lb. GREAT place. The last time I was there I was looking at envelopes etc and saw stacks of precut cardstock. These originally are a little bigger than a card front size of 4.25x5.5. I used my new Martha Stewart score board and scored these in half.
Next, I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut the white and red/pink circles. Followed by stamping the images and coloring them with the Tria Pantone and Prismacolor Markers.
Due to time and the fact that most people toss these cards, I wrote 3 of the 4 sayings on the cards as I did not have those sayings in stamp form. These were pretty easy to mass produce - the coloring was the hardest to do.
Inside I cut two slits for the pencil to be secured and we added a packet of Fun Dip.

Also for the class party both Madelyn and Grace took in these yummy Betty Crocker treats in to celebrate Valentine's day with their friends!Pin It

Hello Everyone!

I miss my blog, a recent visit to another local crafters blog (http://www.saving4six.blogspot.com/) got my blog envy juices flowing again...if that even make sense.

Several months ago, one of my long time friends announced that she was pregnant with a little girl! I made her this card and some fun stuff for her scrapbook on my cricut.

I took these photos, and just recently (after I already mailed her baby shower gift) found the card and the fun scrapbook goodies sitting on my table. So, I am posting the photos here and getting them out in the mail - ASAP before the baby is here in a couple weeks!!

I love this card style. I can not remember where I saw it originally but I have made several cards using this type of layout.

The bottom of the card was embossed with my cricut using a folder by Darce. Then I colored over the raised embossed lines, applied glue and then glitter. The stamp set was a set by the Angel Company called Special Delivery. I colored the images with Tria Pantone and Prismacolor markers. Very carefully I used an exacto knife and cut a few slits long the image lines so that I could attach the ribbon to make it look like it is the blanket wrapped around the baby.

Because its been a few months since I made the card I do not remember all the details of marker colors etc.

Below are the fun items I cut using my Cruit and my SCAL software!

Thanks for stopping in again and hopefully it wont be 6 more months before I post again!

Your Invited

My oldest, Madelyn turned 10 this month. She had asked to have a sleep over with a few friends. This is the invite we came up with. I used Gina K's lava lamp stamp which is something that Madelyn is really into now. So she was very excited - along with her friends. This is really a very simple card of layers of paper. The only really time consuming part was the detail on the lava lamp.

In the close up you will be able to see a little on the detail - I took Eucalyptus stickles and filled in the 'lava' and then after coloring the 'liquid' with a Prismacolor True Blue maker and the stickles dried I covered the 'lamp' with 3-d Crystal Lacquer to give it a glass look.

Images: GinaK - Heartily Yours (lava lamp); TAC - You're invited (inside the card) Cardstock/Paper: Colorbok Pearlescent - blue; TAC - Brighten My Day printed paper, white and lime CS Ink: SUInk - black, Tria Pantone Markers: 368T, cool gray 1 and Prismacolor markers: True blue Accessories: eucalyptus stickles, 3d crystal lacquer, ribbon (walmart), Tombo Mono Aqua Glue Techinques: layering, detail coloring, faux glass

Below are some photos from Madelyn's birthday party!

Happy Waiting

A friend of mine found out she was pregnant over the weekend - with a situation similar to mine she was told she wasn't but knew something wasn't right. I am glad now she knows :)

I love when I know the stamp I want and find the right piece of paper. Once that was decided (which only took seconds) the rest of the card fell into place. This is the card that I made her; I was very happy with the turn out.

I really like how I was able to paper piece the dress and purse together on this card. To give it some demention I did use my markers to shade the dress and purse along with the rest of the outfit.

I finally got my Nestibilities to work in the cuttlebug and I see myself using that A LOT!! It adds such a nice finishing touch. I am so happy to be back in studio - no more dust on my stamps!

Images: TAC How Swell, Words: SU Swell News Cardstock/Paper: barely banana, mellow moss, white, printed paper given to me in a Wish RAK Ink: Palette Noir, Charcoal Markers: Prismacolor Cinnamon toast and Green Tea Tria Pantone blender, Gray 1 489T and 475T Accessories: organza ribbon, pop dots, cuttlebug dot embossing folder, Nestibilities Rectangles, Martha Stewart lace punch, Prima Flower, Seed bead, Clearstar Jellyroll pen Techinques: layers, paper piecing, coloring

Wow! It's seems like it has been forever - but I have been stamping and enjoying it when I can. I have made some cards that I will show you today. Enjoy!

This is a quick little birthday card that I made fro Grace's friend. The little girl loves pink so I used as much as I could for her. I also used a CB embossing folder for the background.

This is a baby shower card that I made with the inside showing as well. I used Tria Pantone and Prismacolor markers. I am really starting to enjoy using these markers again. I hope to learn more coloring techniques so that I will have great coloring options.

This is Grace's Birthday card - I used the Tria Pantone and the prismacolor markers. This card is also built up in layers. I took a coloring book image, shrank it, make more copies so that I could layer the card. All the dwarfs beards are done with liquid applique.

This was Madelyns Birthday card - done the same was as Grace's. I love spending time on these - my girls enjoy getting them from me!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to be here again real soon!

I got to stamp some today...Donald Duck Signiture Book Swap.

I can tell that I am not feeling my best and it shows in my pages today. I am not sure how I want to fix these up, but I am not that pleased with these pages for a swap that I am in.

There is one thing that I do like is my Donald, on this I used one of those mini fine point sharpies to have the cricut draw Donald for me (for those of you that want to try this, I suggest that you get out your scotch tape and tape a band around the sharpie because they are not thick enough to sit in the blade/marker holder, so I rigged it to be thicker so that it could draw). After the cricut drew it for me then I had it cut it for me as well but re-running it back through the cricut. Then I used my Tria Pantone and Prismacolor markers to color Donald.

It is hard to see in the picture (my zoom on my camera is not working at the moment) but the Yellow 6x6 page is stamped with stars in yellow and the Gray background is like a corrgated paper. Here is the picture:

Check out the pictures below of Grace, yes that is her sharing a push-up pop with LG! Gross!

What a week...and upcoming weekand!

This has been a very busy week, between training at work, the kids schedules, Madelyn being sick again and some not so good news about my father in law I really haven't had much time to blog or stamp! I am hoping that this weekand brings me more time. I do have out Contractor coming over tomorrow to give me the money for my desk and some other missing things. Then tomorrow night some friends are coming over to stamp/scrap. Then on Sunday another set of friends are coming over and bringing their cute little baby! He is about 6 months old and I recently bought him a little firetruck shirt and some Cleveland Browns sippy cups! I can not wait to give them to him!

Last night I whipped up another baby girl card for my friend....This card is a 4x4 and contains a scallopped punch from SU, the Marvey circle punch and the CM circle cutting system. The Baby is from a set called Sweet Pea. (This set is retired fom TAC). I colored the baby with Tria Pantone and Prismacolor markers. The ribbon is a new Offray from Walmart that I found, Hot Pink/Opal.

Tonight I have to take care of some bills and some cleaning...and think out some ideas I have had lately. I want to make my friend another option for a baby girl card and then I need to make an Anniversary card for my 4 yr marriage anniversary that is coming up....and st pattys day, easter etc. Not sure what I will accomplish!

A snowed in Weekend.
The weather men were right, they predicted a lot of snow and that is exactly what we got. The snow started to fly around noonish on Friday and didn't stop until sometime last Sat night. When we woke up Sunday morning we knee deep snow and even deeper in the drift areas, but that is okay, the kids enjoyed a few hours outside in the snow!

Grace and Madelyn built a mini snow fort and sledded down our mini hill. Grace decided that the sled was not necessary and went down on her belly they had great fun! Enjoy some pics! (and look they aren't of Grace getting into trouble!)

(Grace and Madelyn working on their fort....Grace going tummy first and Madelyn under the sled)

I also made some cards this weekend. The snow inspired me to make one that I had favorited in my SCS gallery and the other is for a friend whom needed a new baby card.

This card was done by Bambi64 on SCS. To see my Inspiration for this card, click here. The stamp I used was by Northwoods Rubberstamp Inc., to see the full image take a look at peaceful church.

A friend of mine needed a new baby girl card, this is one that I made for her. I think I will make a couple more for her to choose from. I also have a new baby boy card to make to!
This card was done by nutts for stamps on SCS. To see my Inspiration for this card, click here. The stamps used here are form a retired TAC stamp set called Special Delivery. The insided of the care is stamped with the saying from an SU set called A New Little Someone.

A few more cards and stuff from the last few days...

I have been pretty busy the last few days and have not been able to post like I wanted to. Since I am starting my new job tody I wanted to make sure I had a lot of things done over the past week. On Saturday Madelyn and I went on a mini road trip. I had to go to Strongsville to pick up a piece of furniture, then since we were not too far away we rode over to Medina to hit up Hollos and Hobby Lobby.

Of course there was a detour and and then the signs just stopped so we drove around lost for an hour. Then we made it to Hollos where Madelyn realized that I was not lying when I told her it was an awesome paperstore! If you do not know, Hollos is a place where you pay $1 per pound of paper. Madelyn got about 3 pounds of paper and was in heaven. I picked up about 10 lbs of paper and now my paper rack is pretty full!

Then I found some really neat red glitterbased cardstock and some 12x12 glossy paper in light pink and blue. Then I found some metallic paper in red and reflective mirror paper! I can not wait to try them all out.

I also made another reflective card with a snowman! I used this card for inspiration. I just changed the colors to blue since its my favorite color. This was my second attempt at the reflection. I first used colored pencil but when I embossed it to give it a icy look the colors looked aweful. In this one I used watercolor pencils and CrystalLacquer, it distorted the colors a little, but not bad.
The background is embossed with my Cuttlebug and a Fiskars embossing plate.

Then I decided to do one of the challenges for the week from SCS. I enjoy doing these when I find time to do them. This challenge was the Sketch Challenge, click here, for the directions. I used a House Mouse stamp for this card. I also saw that some of the House Mouse stamps are now clear unmounted stamps at Hobby Lobby...I believe they were christmas and halloween! The mouse here is also flocked.

Lastly, before I post my last card from this past week. I am very tired from my first day back to work. Not to sure if it is the lack of sleep from last night (I was kinda anxious about today).
Or from being bored today. My new job entails my dept to keep forclosed properties maintained. Its a pretty basic job, but it keeps me busy. I will learn some more proceedures. I was told today that there may be a good chance to be hired on full time. I even heard that some people work from home doing what I would be doing. That would be a great thing!

Now, for my last card. I did yet another reflection card using the TAC set How Swell, I used the mirror reflective paper that I got at Hollos. I colored her with Prismacolor and Tria Pantone markers. I wish that I could have gotten a darker, more solid color from coloring on the reflective paper.
